All The Light We Cannot See

"So how, children, does the brain, without a spark of light, build for us a world full of light?"

-Anthony Doerr, All the Light We Cannot See

The Webb Telescope Images
Have you seen? They are breathtaking.

How does it work?

Light at the farthest reaches of our universe arrives here as infra-red.

A color our eyes cannot see.
Until now.

This month, I'm inspired by those images to probe deeper:

What hidden light does my farm radiate?

Photosynthesis: Nourished by Light
"I always love...

...to walk through the trees in the evening, when the sun is low and leaves are backlit.

And each single leaf so beautiful with all its veins etched so clearly, some with an incredibly intricate branching pattern."
-Jane Goodall, Seeds of Hope

Sunlight... A leaf... A flower... A berry.

It begins with sunlight.
It ends with a sip.

Sunlight then nourishes us...
And we, in turn, others...
A miracle, no?

Honey Bees: To See Light Through Their Eyes
“Sunlight vibrates on many different planes...

Flowers have evolved

ultraviolet markings

for the benefit of insects.

Ultraviolet colors are

part of the spectrum that

insects can see and we cannot."

-David Attenborough, Life in Color

To summarize:

My flowers
Talk to my honeybees
Through secret color-code.

I am in awe.
Nature emits unseen color & light to foster connection.

Sunrise: The Magic Light
"The light is shattered...

...into gold on every cloud, my Darling, and it scatters gems in profusion." -Rabindranath Tagore, Light
This summer my 11-year old daughter has been exploring the patient, attentive art of
nature photography.

For photographers there is a...

Magic Light
Sunrise & sunset... photographer's Magic Light.

My Sunlight Peak Blend is my Magic Light reminder:
"Sunrises & sunsets linger. The warm sun and sweet earth pause for a moment. Go ahead. Sip & linger."

When I think about all the light we cannot yet see, I am:Curious.
Hopeful.
And, I am compelled to pause and drink in the vast, beautiful light I can see each day.

As always:

Thank you

I'm honored to be your herbal tea farmer.
